Why does my daughter have red marks on her face like baby acne?

My 15 month old daughter has been getting more and more red spots on her face and like baby acne and it started with red under her eye and went to the doctor he told me she had an infection so gave me something to put under her eye but now its all over her face and it just keeps getting worse and worse im for sure making an appoiment. Do you know what i can put on her or what it could be?? Thank you everyone for you answers :)

1. My baby had that too, the doctor said it's normal and will go away on it's own, which it did.
It was hard because I wanted him to look clean and he had all these pimple looking spots, but it went away after a while and his face looks smooth now without any permanent marks.

2. from experience it can be one of three things. baby acne which means you need to clean her face more with mild soap and water. chicken pox which means she needs to see a doctor but don't take her into the doctor's office because she'll give it to the other kids. or an allergic reaction to something like a medication which will go away on its own and just try to figure out what she had different and keep her away from it.

3. Allergy. My granddaughter had this. It took my daughter quite a while to isolate the cause, but it turned out to be citric acid (which is in citrus fruits, but is also added to a lot of processed foods as a preservative. Once she eliminated everything from the baby's diet with citric acid, everything cleared up. But up until a couple of years ago (she's 11), every time she had something with citric acid, she broke out. The pediatrician had no idea what it was. Actually, he still doesn't. There's a second baby who broke out- same doctor, still saying it was baby acne. But my daughter knows better now. She's eliminated everything from her diet (she's breastfeeding) like milk, gluten, citric acid, and the baby's skin has cleared up and he's sleeping much better. Doctors don't know much about food allergies.
