How to cure baby acne and what is the cause?
My 6 week old son has developed a bad case of newborn acne on his face and head. I am on antibiotics and breastfeeding so I am wondering if this could be causing it? Has anyone else seen this on their baby? Is there anything I can do for him?

1. My baby got baby acne at about 4 weeks. It so happened it was the day before her doctor's appointment. It's apparently very common (and I was not breastfeeding). All you really need to do is clean his face with water daily, but I did get prescription for nizroal cream that cleared it up really quickly, but the dr. said a script was not neccesary, but that I could have one if I wanted. The cause was something about either my hormones or yeast in the atmospere???
2. The reason for the baby acne is because he still has all your hormones running around in his body and that's his bodies way of getting rid of those hormones.
Leave it alone, don't pick them, put creme on them...nothing. Every once and a while it will be okay to wipe his face with a warm wash cloth but that is it, you don't want to cause any scaring to his face so it's best just to leave it alone.
3. You can't cure baby acne. It just goes away. My son had a few bumps from acne here and there, but what he really had a problem with was baby eczema. There were bumps from it covering his face and chest. It was in his hair, everywhere. And it looked awful.
What we did to help him was we found some baby eczema wash in a drugstore, and washed him with that. It's a milder soap than regular baby soap. And we found a baby eczema cream that we applied several times a day. We also started washing him every other night instead of every night. It finally cleared up. Now he's over a year old and he's outgrown it. We bathe him every night with no problems now.
4. Infant acne is caused by exposure to the mother's hormones. It isn't harmful or uncomfortable for the baby, and it should clear up on its own within the first few months. Do *not* try to clear it up using any sort of acne soap or cream. It won't work, and it will likely irritate your baby.
Again, just leave it alone and let nature take its course.
5. Leave his skin alone! Its simply your hormones still in him they will go away on there own please don't try to pop them or put any type of acne treatment on his face his skin is way too delicate to handle them.
May not even be acne could be heat rash. Babys skin is so delicate anything can irritate it. Its best just to ask your pediatrician and to leave the bumps alone until you do so.
